CHRIS Newsome is bracing for another long season as he juggles his time suiting up in the PBA Season 50, the East Asia Super League, and Gilas Pilipinas.
The Bolts' acknowledged leader stressed he's ready to take on the challenge anew after facing the same scenario the past two years.
"It's not something that I run from it. It's actually something that I openly accept because anytime you represent the country, whether it's your club team or Gilas, I'm always going to be there, and I'll always put my best foot forward," said Newsome when asked about another back-breaking schedule ahead of him.
The golden season of the PBA kicks off on October 5 with the Philippine Cup, where the Bolts hope to regain the championship after winning the league's so-called crown jewel in 2024.
Two weeks later, the team opens its bid in the EASL Home and Away Season 3 as it travels to Okinawa Japan to face the Ryukyu Golden Kings.

Naturalized player Justin Brownlee and imports Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Puerto Rican Israel Romero will banner Meralco's campaign in its bid to finally make it to the semifinals.
By November, the qualifier for the 2027 FIBA World Cup begins with Gilas Pilipinas playing Guam in the opener.
Newsome, who just signed a new, three-year contract extension with Meralco, isn't complaining.
And neither is his wife, beauty queen Cam Lagmay, who the 35-year-old guard out of Ateneo refers to as his biggest supporter.
"She's very supportive of what I do. She's the one who's pushing me to continue doing my best, and just allow me the time to continue to improve my craft," said Newsome, who got hitch just before Gilas Pilipinas left for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the FIBA Asia Cup.
"She knows that I'm doing it all for our family."
