IT will take a while before Andreas Cahilig could rejoin San Miguel Beer after going down with a hyperextended left knee in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup semifinals between San Miguel and Barangay Ginebra.
With his knee still swollen, the 34-year-old Cahilig sat out Friday night's game which the Beermen won, 103-92, for a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The Fil-Swede forward can't exactly tell when he'll be able to suit up anew for San Miguel, depending on how fast the injury heals.
"I don't really know how long, it depends on the knee on how fast it goes. Hopefully, I can start like rehabbing it in a couple of days," said Cahilig who was in street clothes as he watched the Game 5 action on the bench at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Cahilig, acquired in a trade with Terrafirma midway in the season, suffered the injury after Ginebra guard Jeremiah Gray hit his knee during a rebound play early in the second period of Game 4.

He never returned to the game after just playing less than two minutes in the San Miguel blowout win, 107-82.
Cahilig, who averaged 3.0 points, 1.0 rebound, and 1.0 assist in an average 12 minutes of play, has not practiced with the Beermen since hurting his knee.
"I could walk but I couldn't bend the knee too much," he said.
The swollen has considerably subside, according to him, making him confident of returning to action if ever San Miguel makes it all the way to the finals.
Game 6 is set Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with the Beermen looking to close out the series.(RG)
