Chiu, Andrews show way in Draft Combine opener

GEO Chiu had the longest arm span, while Fil-Am Ashon Andrews and Jake Gaspay recorded the highest vertical jump (standing) to emerge among the standouts in Day 1 of the PBA Draft Combine on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena.

The 6-foot-9 Chiu, the tallest among the 125 players who participated in the opening day of the event, registered the longest arm span horizontally from one fingertip to the other, measuring 82 inches.
The big man out of Ateneo also had the longest standing reach at 107 inches.

Andrews and Gaspay meanwhile, both tapped 33.4 inches to emerge with the highest vertical jump among the 125 applicants who showed up for the first of the two-day Draft Combine presented by Pocari Sweat and sponsored by ArenaPlus and Daily Fantasy.

The 6-foot-4 Andrews also had the longest vertical jump (running) at 42.5 inches.

The individual measurements were part of the biometrics rookie aspirants were made to undergo in the two-day Draft Combine.
