LETTING go of Scotty Hopson, the import who delivered two game-winning, four-point shots, is heartbreaking for Converge.
Playing in pain and virtually with one healthy leg, Hopson was being bothered by a quad injury, yet he was able to display those heroic performances for the FiberXers in their game against the TNT Tropang Giga and against Terrafirma Dyip.
With a 4-4 win-loss record in Group A, Converge has put itself in a good position to vie for a playoff spot, but to be able to take its game to the next level, the FiberXers coaching staff felt they need a healthy reinforcement to help the squad reach the extra mile.
"Scotty is a specialist. He has a unique skill set that undoubtedly helped us be in the position that we are in. That is a testament of his hard work in practice," said Converge coach Franco Atienza. "More than anything, he is a great person. His professionalism and dedication to the team is second to none."
The Fiberxers tapped Jalen Jones, an NBA veteran who played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans.

Officially measured at 6-foot-5 and 15/16, Jones averaged 5.8 points in 13.5 minutes while playing 12 games for the Mavericks in the 2017-2018 NBA season. He spent five years in Europe, including a championship in Romania while playing for U-BT Cluj-Napoca last year.
"Jalen is an athlete and a high energy guy. he will provide that versatility that we need without sacrificing length and ceiling. He had played in the highest levels of basketball and his experience will only help us as we try to make a push for the playoffs," added Atienza.
