Elasto Painters make all-Filipino debut versus Road Warriors

PBA @ 50 rolls on with Rain or Shine and NLEX to clash in the mainer of a Saturday resumption of the Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Elasto Painters and the Road Warriors brace for a tough fight in their 7:30 p.m. face-off in a weekend bill coming after the PBA Golden Anniversary gig Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum and the Gala Night at Solaire North Friday.

Coach Yeng Guiao and his troops make their first outing since a Final Four finish in the recent Commissioner's Cup along with eventual champion TNT, Barangay Ginebra and NorthPort.

NLEX, meanwhile, is playing its second game, a week after a losing conference debut versus San Miguel Beer, 89-98.

The Elasto Painters are excited on what they can put up in this all-Filipino tourney following solid showings in the first two conferences.

Guiao is hopeful they can sustain a fighting performance, especially with the experience and the upsides his youthful crew have got.

And as they continue to play, fight and battle together, Adrian Nocum, Andrei Caracut, Jhonard Clarito, Leonard Santillan, Caelan Tiongson, Felix Lemetti, Gian Mamuyac, Anton Asistio and Keith Datu are only expected to grow and blossom.

The Road Warriors, on the other hand, are looking to get over the hump.

Despite consistent prolific outings of Robert Bolick last conference, coach Jong Uichico's team failed to make it past the elims with a 6-6 win-loss card.

Curiously in their loss to SMB, Bolick limited himself to being more of a facilitator in the first half. But as he started to make attempts, the 6-foot-2 hotshot finished with 12 points and eight assists.(SB)
