MAGNOLIA has parted ways with veteran forward Calvin Abueva on Tuesday.
The Hotshots traded the energetic Abueva to NorthPort in exchange for William Navarro, who was picked second overall by the Batang Pier in the 2020 Gilas Draft.
Besides Abueva, Magnolia also sent reserve guard Jerrick Balanza and its 51st second round pick to NorthPort.
Abueva was acquired by the Hotshots from the Phoenix Fuel Masters in 2021 in exchange for Banchero and 2 draft picks.
The 37-year old Abueva, who will be joining his fourth team, is averaging 8.38 points and 5.38 rebounds in the on going Philippine Cup.

The acquisition of Navarro, a 6-6 forward with excellent shooting touch around the basket and a tough defender, should help Magnolia in its bid to end its title drought.
