THE Philippine Basketball Association formally welcomes the 10 additional players to its all-time Greatest' list on Friday night.
In a special weekend program co-presented by ArenaPlus at the grand ballroom of the Solaire Resort North, the recently named individuals will get to take their place in the league's 50 Greatest Players as part of the PBA's golden anniversary celebration.
Leading the list are Nelson Asaytono, Danny Seigle, Jeffrey Cariaso, Bong Hawkins, Manny Victorino, Elpidio 'Yoyoy' Villamin, Abe King, and the late Arnie Tuadles.
Completing the roster are MVP recipients and active players June Mar Fajardo and Scottie Thompson.
The 10 players were carefully scrutinized, debated, and selected by a 10-man panel chaired by former league Commissioner Renauld 'Sonny' Barrios.

The entire PBA Board led by Chairman Ricky Vargas and Commissioner Willie Marcial will be present to personally receive the awardees during the anniversary celebration gala night with BingoPlus, Daily Fantasy and World Balance as major sponsors. Other event partners are Pocari Sweat, DCA Power Tools and Fitbar.
Also invited to the event which starts at 8 p.m. are the first 40 members of the 50 Greatest Players.
Comprising the 25 Greatest Players first named in 2000 are Johnny Abarrientos, William Adornado, Renato Agustin, Francis Arnaiz, Ricardo Brown, Allan Caidic, Hector Calma, Philip Cezar, Fortunato Co, Jerry Codinera, Kenneth Duremdes, Bernard Fabiosa, Ramon Fernandez, Danny Florencio, Alberto Guidaben, Freddie Hubalde, Robert Jaworski Sr. Isabelo Lastimosa, Lim Eng Beng, Avelino Lim, Ronnie Magsanoc, Vergel Meneses, Manny Paner, Alvin Patrimonio, and Venancio Paras.
In 2015, 15 names were added to the list to complete the 40 Greatest Players, including Jimmy Alapag, Marlou Aquino, Mark Caguioa, Jayson Castro, Jayjay Helterbrand, Danny Ildefonso, Chito Loyzaga, Eric Menk, Willie Miller, Marc Pingris, Kerby Raymundo, Arwind Santos, Asi Taulava, Kelly Williams, and James Yap.
Performances will be provided by Maja Salvador, GForce, and Bamboo.

The formal affair comes two days after the PBA held its 50th anniversary games on April 9 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum pitting Magnolia and Converge, and San Miguel against Meralco in the featured retro game.(RG)
