THE Philippine Basketball Association imposed an indefinite ban on Phoenix big man Larry Muyang for breach of contract.
Commissioner Willie Marcial announced the sanction on the 6-foot-6 Muyang for playing with another team in another league despite still having a live contract with his mother ballclub.
Marcial personally met with the beleaguered player Sunday during the Meralco-Phoenix, Converge-Blackwater doubleheader at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
"Banned ang status niya (ngayon) sa PBA," said the commissioner.
As per Phoenix management, Muyang's contract with the team is up until May this year. And yet, he played for the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the ongoing MPBL Season 7.

Marcial is not discounting the possibility of the player facing a possible lawsuit from Phoenix management for non-fulfillment of his live contract.
Muyang was apologetic, according to the league chieftain.
"Humingi siya ng pasensiya. Pero sabi ko kahit ganun, may kontrata siya sa Phoenix so dapat i-honor niya yun," said Marcial.
Even in the event Phoenix and Muyang finally smoke the peace pipe, Marcial said Muyang still has to appeal his case before the PBA Board if he's eyeing to return to the league.
"Kailangan umapela pa rin siya sa Board of Governors," he said.
