THE Philippine Basketball Association is going great guns as it celebrates its 50th season.
Games are in store in Dubai and Bahrain when Asia's first ever play-for-pay league marks its golden anniversary starting in October.
Fresh from his brief sojourn in Dubai, Commissioner Willie Marcial disclosed about agreeing to hold games in the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain before the year ends.
He said one game is set in Dubai by October and possibly a Bahrain doubleheader in December.

Marcial met last week with Dubai Basketball Development Manager Ellie Flemings and Coca Cola Arena Dubai General Manager Mark Jan Kar during the Basketball Champions League Asia where the Meralco Bolts represented the PBA.
"May mga nabanggit nang teams na posibleng maglaro pero hindi pa muna namin ia-announce kung sino-sino ang mga ito," said the commissioner.
It was actually a productive meeting Marcial had in the Middle East as two other countries also expressed interest to hold PBA games, possibly by next year.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia held PBA exhibition matches in the past, although it was Dubai which hosted a number of official games by the league including a two-day series featuring San Miguel vs. NLEX and NLEX against Barangay Ginebra during the 2019 Governors' Cup.(RG)
