Brownlee: Kings have to remain confident and bring the NSD spirit in Game 3

BARANGAY Ginebra needs its trademark never-say-die spirit.

And the Gin Kings better summon it quick or else TNT will be ready to pounce and move closer to back-to-back titles in the PBA Governors' Cup.

"We know we've been playing badly and I think we just have to remain confident," said Ginebra's star import Justin Brownlee.

"Down 2-0, it's going to be hard to remain confident, I would say, but we got that NSD spirit and hopefully, with the crowd, everybody can just rely on each other to bring that spirit into Game 3 and turn the series around," he added.

Though outplayed by the Rondae Hollis-Jefferson-led Tropang Giga in the first two games, Brownlee firmly believes the race-to-four Last Dance is far from over.

"It's a first to four (wins), not the first to two. And we still have faith in each other that we'll figure out (what needs to be done), try to get a rhythm in Game 3," said the three-time Best Import.

The Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player admits he needs to sharpen his guns and out-maneuver TNT's defenders moving forward. In the finals, Brownlee's point production is down to 21 per game, totally unable to convert all his four attempts from three-point territory and logging just one connection out of six attempts from the extended four-point arc.

"Obviously, they know my game and they know I like to shoot threes so they've really been scouting that and they've been on it very well. They don't want me to shoot threes so I have to adjust, find ways to get open and stay confident that I get those open shots, take them and knock them down," he said. (OL)
