ALFRANCIS Chua hailed San Miguel Beermen on Friday night for successfully reclaiming the PBA Philippine Cup crown.
?"Ang hirap, no? Matagal na kaming di nakakabalik sa championship. Pero ngayon, nandito na kami," the San Miguel Corporation sports director said during the presentation of the Jun Bernardino Trophy following the Beermen's 107-96 victory against the TNT Tropang 5G in Game 6 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
San Miguel won the all-Filipino title for the seventh time in the last 10 editions of the tournament.
After losing the league's most prestigious trophy to Meralco last year, the Beermen were eliminated by the Ginebra Gin Kings in the semifinals of the Governors' Cup, and to make matters worse, they missed the playoffs of the Commissioner's Cup .
Those misfortunes drove the Beermen to be motivated.
