TNT has lost big man Poy Erram in the PBA Philippine Cup finals for good.
The veteran big man is declared out for the rest of the title series after going down with a meniscus tear on his left knee that requires surgery.
Erram was in street clothes and watched Game 5 on the bench, which the Tropang 5G won, 86-78, to extend their title series against the San Miguel Beermen.
Unfortunately, the 36-year-old Erram won't be around as TNT tries to keep its grand slam hopes alive.
"Nagkaroon ng meniscal tear yung left leg ko. Namamaga siya, kailangan ko pa-surgery," he said shortly after the team cut down the series deficit at 3-2 on a rainy Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Obviously, he aggravated his condition after suiting up in Game 4 despite nursing a high grade ankle sprain in his right foot which he suffered in the second game of the Finals.
Erram has no regrets though suiting up, notwithstanding his condition in a bid to help a TNT side that has been ravaged by injuries starting in the playoffs onwards.
"Part ng trabaho yun. Once na mag-step ka sa court, it's a risk. Aksidente, eh," he said.
Erram still has to undergo further tests before going under the knife, and will be likely out for the next three to four months.
But he'll continue to give moral support to the team by showing up in the playing venue, including Game 6 on Friday at the Philsports Arena in another do-or-die situation for TNT.
