PAUL Lee hopes that Magnolia's long chase for a PBA championship can finally end under rookie coach LA Tenorio, whose tenure will start on Sunday against his former team Barangay Ginebra.
"Sana ito na yung pinakahinihintay namin," Lee said. "Sana si Coach LA na yung sagot sa mga katanungan na yun kaya sana maging memorable sa amin itong 50th season."
Among the holdovers of the Hotshots' last crown back in the 2018 Governors' Cup, Lee is expected to be among those that will try to break their agony under Tenorio, who is actually not the only addition to the team.
Magnolia had a busy off season, acquiring Javi Gomez de Liano from Terrafirma while also picking up Paolo Taha and Raffy Verano from free agency.

First round pick Yutien Andrada would come in after his NCAA stint with San Beda, but Magnolia was able to sign up third round selection Gab Gomez.
Another vital move was keeping the energetic forward Zavier Lucero, who agreed on a two-year contract extension.
Tenorio took over Chito Victolero, who developed Magnolia into a defensive-oriented squad during his nine year stint. With the change though, Magnolia is transitioning a bit in terms of offense while keeping the same defensive mindset.

"Tinuturo niya sa amin is yung right tempo sa opensa, depende sa sitwasyon," Lee said. "Ang maganda naman sa amin sa depensa sabi ni Coach LA is hindi na masyadong mahirap magturo so overall nandun na yung parang sharpness namin sa depensa." (JT)
