A win away from an outright quarters entry and in good position to make the Top Four, the NLEX Road Warriors are now looking at achieving the best that they can.
One good test at how far they can go is their Sunday setto versus reigning PBA Philippine Cup champs Meralco Bolts at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
While the Road Warriors seek to formalize passage into the playoffs, the Bolts, on the other hand, try to firm up their hold of eighth spot.
NLEX and Meralco square off in their crucial match at 7:30 p.m., with the Road Warriors out to extend the longest streak in franchise history while the Bolts seek to regain .500 mark in their penultimate game in the elims.
After dropping their conference debut versus San Miguel Beer, coach Jong Uichico's troops quickly recovered and have since gone spotless, winning a record six straight matches.

"It (program) is showing good signs," said Uichico. "But it's too early to tell. Marami diyan nag-i-streak tapos will falter in the end. Hindi naman 'yun ano (goal) namin, eh. Basta kami tuloy-tuloy lang kami. We're playing well but alam naman natin pagdating ng dikdikan, ibang usapan na 'yun. So that is the next test."
The Road Warriors are now in the homestretch of their elims sked, playing the Bolts then the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, the Magnolia Hotshots and then the NorthPort Batang Pier.
Two more wins can put them in a position to contend for a Top Four finish and a twice-to-beat incentive in the quarters.
The Bolts, meanwhile, eye a follow-up to their win versus Blackwater the last time out. Doing so will get them at 5-5, three wins clear of closest pursuer Phoenix (2-5).
Coach Luigi Trillo's chargers will then have the Gin Kings as final assignment in a keenly awaited match on May 30.(SB)
