JUAN Gomez de Liano continued to make a good impression for Converge ahead of its PBA campaign after leading the way in beating Blackwater, 96-77, in a tune-up game on Saturday at the Hoops Center in Mandaluyong City.
Gomez de Liano finished with 20 points in his second exhibition action for the FiberXers since being selected No. 2 overall in the Rookie Draft and subsequently signing a three-year contract.
It was Converge's second straight tune-up victory after losing to Rain or Shine the previous weekend.
Converge spoiled the preseason debut of Blackwater rookie Dalph Panopio, who was chosen after Gomez de Liano in the Draft.
Panopio was still feeling things out for the Bossing after the Italy-born former Batang Gilas mainstay inked a three-year deal.
